What is your middle name?
Sadly, I don't have one! Where I live, people usually get a middle name when they get baptized, and since my name is Carol, my parents found no need to think of another, so the left me middle-name-less :(

What's your favorite subject at school?
It must have been English or Arabic, the grammatical part of Arabic because I always struggled with being generous enough with my literature answers!

What's your favorite drink?
This ALWAYS changes! Alcoholic drinks-wise, a good ol' margarita does me no wrong, otherwise it will have to either be fruity decaf tea or fanta exotic!

What is your favorite song at the moment?
Now this also changes a lot, but for right now, I'll share this gem with y'all! Stereophonics' Maybe Tomorrow is soooo beautiful trust me!

What is your favorite food?
SU SU SUSHI!

What is the last thing you bought?
Guerlain quad in Les Violines! You'll read more about it in the future :)

As much as I would like to say The Cider House Rules, I have made up my mind that the best book that was ever written by a human being is Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin *GOOSEBUMPS*

OPI 50 Shades of Grey

I LOOOOOVE OPI nail polishes, their limited edition ones in particular! And while I do not like the idea of the book and movie of 50 Shades of Grey, I can not say no to grey nail polishes, they are simply a few of my favorite things! Now living in Israel, OPI isn't as cheap as I would like it to be, so I thought I'll my top two picks from the collection, and I yes I had just such a self disciplined young woman moment!

أنا بحب مناكير OPI كتييييير! بالذات لما بعملو الوان بكميات محدوده لفتره معينه! ومع اني محبيتش كتاب و فيلم 50 لون رمادي, بس فكرة المناكير الرماديه بقدرش اقولها لا! هون بالناصره المناكير من هاي الشركه نسبيا غاليين بالمقارنه مع معظم الشرك الدارجه, فقررت انه ممنوع اشتري اكتر من لونين, وبالفعل كنت منضبطه بهديك اللحظه ومشيت حسب مخططاتي. 

The shades I got were PERFECT for my liking, the first on is called Dark Side of  the Mood, and the second one is called Shine for Me. I mean, look at them, aren't they BEAUTIFUL!

الالوان اللي اخترتها مثاليين لشو انا بحب, واسمائهن مكتوبين بالخط العريض فوق. بس انه شوفو ما احلاهن!!!!!

 DSOTF is a your perfect black but not really black nail polish. If you find black nail polish to make a social statement of some sort (try living in an Arab community with semi conservative parents!) then black nail polish just means I want to cut my veins and die! So a super dark grey is like wearing black with a high sense of style! This one is really dark, sometimes I find myself comparing it to the glorious Incognito in Sausalito, that one is OPI's best limited edition nail polish since I started using OPI! They're obviously different in color, but they're both almost like wearing a different shade of black, but you're not. To summarize, it is a dark creamy grey, looks so awesome and complimentary against any skin tone you can think of, and if you dye your skin green, which I don't recommend, you'll still pull this beautiful polish off! BTW the formula is kinda sheer so you may actually need 2 to 3 coats, not as great as Incognito in Sausalito's one coat and taraa!

اللون الاول هو اللون المثالي لكل اللي بحبو فكره اشي بشبه المناكير السود.  اذا بتحسو انه المناكير السود بعطو نوع من "التصريح الاجتماعي" فاللون الرمادي الغامق هو اكتر طريقه مقبوله للمناكير السود حسب رأيي! بصراحه انا مع انه كل شخص يعمل شو بريحه, بس انه هاد مش موضوعنا لليوم. المهم, اللون فش في برق, مفضل استعمال طبقتين ل 3 طبقات منه حتي يصير اللون غني, وملائم للناس اللي عندن بشره بيضه متل التلج للناس اللي عندهن بشره سمراء او خضرا او زرقا (ها ها نكتت). هاد اللون بذكرني بلون تاني من نفس الشركه بس هداك ازرق, موجود تحت بالصور!

SFM is a gloooorious almost galaxy of silver and blue sparkles, mostly silver. The glitters are so small that you can get full coverage with 1 coat, but two coats is clearly the way to go! I see more blue in the bottle than on my nails. I LOVE this, this is probably my favorite OPI glitter that I have, I think OPI should dump the chunky glitter and keep doing this because it freaking works! I am currently wearing this on the ring finger of both of my hands, one with DSOTF underneath and one without, you know just for comparison reasons, and if there was a noticeable difference between the two, I wouldn't have kept them on for two days going on 3. I love this, I highly recommend it, if I was a billionaire I would have bought every single one they had in stock and gifted it to all of my cousins and friends who like nail polishes, but unfortunately I'm not. After all of this rave, you probably think I like it better than Incognito in Sausalito... Nope, but its really close!

اللون التاني اكتر من رائع! بشبه مليون نجمه متجمعات مع بعض مع لمعه فضيه مع زراق! البرق صغير و بعطو تغطيه كامله للاظفر بطيقه لطبقتين! عالاظفر البرق ببين اكتر فضي من ازرق. ممكن استعمال اللون هاد بدون لون غامق من تحت لانه قوي كفاي. انا جربته عاصبع مع اللون الاول من تحت والتاني بدون الطبقه هاي وبصراحه فش فرق! كتير حلو وانا كتير بنصح فيه!

You can wear both of them on their own, or together like I am right now! I honestly don't want to have to take them off in a couple days, I think we're on to a very solid January favorite nail combo right here! And sure, let the pictures speak for themselves!

ممكن تحطو اللونين مع بعض, وممكن كل واحد لحال. انا كتير حبيتهن ومش حابه اقيمهن عن اظافري. بتهيألي انهن من المناكير المفضله عندي للشهر! وطبعا خلو الصور تكمل شو لازم ينقال!

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipsticks in Rosy Boop

Guerlain was, is, and I'm afraid may always be my favorite brand for lipsticks, and that is my opinion which you don't need to always agree with! I've tried my fair share or Guerlain lipsticks, and when I heard that Guerlain has brand new Kiss Kiss lipsticks I, clearly, got beyond excited!

غرلان كانت, وبعدها, وعلى الاغلب رح تضل الشركه المفضله الي من ناحيه الحمره. طبعا هاد رايي, بحقلكو توافقو او ما توافقو معي! المهم, لما عرفت انهن عملو نوع حمره جديد, انا تشوقت اجربها طبعا!

Looking at it I must say that it is the best looking lipstick packaging I've seen, I think Guerlain did Black and Gold a lot better than Chanel! I love the nice weight this tube has, the shine, and the golden top with the Guerlain Logo! In terms of packaging, this is the most flawless looking lipstick packaging I've ever seen, much much better than the Rouge G in my opinion!

منظره الخارجي رااااائع, احلى منظر لحمره انا شفته, بظن غرلان زبطو اكتر مع الاسود والذهبي من شانيل! الوزن لاصبع الحمره ممتاز, بحس اني اشتريت حمره "تقيله". مفش اي انتقاد سلبي ممكن احكيه.

In terms of the color selection, as always, I am impressed! According to Sephora, there are 26 shades to choose from, and they vary from the light and neutral to the dark and vampy. You will find a shade you like, I promise! I found a few to be honest but I was such a good girl and I only bought one to test it out before going crazy and buying three to five additional ones! The color I purchased is called Rosy Boop, yes, sounds like rosy poop, but I'm a mature young lady and I've looked past this weird name. Rosy Boop is a beautiful MLBB (my lips but better) shade, it looks rosier in the tube, but on the lips it almost applies with a whisper of brown thrown into the mixture, and I'll tell you why in a second!

من ناحية الالوان الموجوده, متل العاده انا عجبوني. حسب مواقع بالنترنت في حوالي 26 لون من الفاتح للغامق, فأكيد رح يكون في لون بيعجبكو. اللون اللي انا اخترته اسمه مكتوب بالخط العريض فوق وهو لون فاتح وعملي ليوم يوم. اللون بصراحه بشبه لون شفافي. بحسه ممكن يبين مختلف عكل وحده لاسباب رح احكي عنها اسا.

The formula of these lipsticks is very very very reminiscent to both the glorious Rouge Automatique lippies and the Shine Automatique ones, I'd say, it is their love child. Its supremely creamy and buttery, applies like an absolute dream, and feels a bit moisturizing to me, but nothing too balmy. This one lasts on my lips for 3 hours up to 4, which is fairly decent for a lipstick that is as creamy as this one is. The range in particular leans a bit semi sheer in terms of the color payoff, the colors definitely have pigmentation to them, but one that wouldn't necessarily be called full opacity, which is where the Rouge Automatique and Shine Automatique lipsticks meet in this one. I also found that some colors contain finely milled shimmer, which is where you feel the Shine Automatique side the most, but not all the colors have shimmer, so if shimmer isn't exactly your cup of tea, Guerlain's got you covered. I think it goes without mentioning that darker shades last longer right? Overall, I love this new lipstick formulation that Guerlain has come up with! Just when you think the best high end new lipstick of the year is Estee Lauder's Envy ones, Guerlain finds its way to the top of the lipsticks pyramid! Oh and in terms of price, I clearly wouldn't call it cheap, but considering the fact that its Guerlain, you didn't expect a 7$ price tag? Either ways, if you can afford it then I believe you'll enjoy it, and if you can, you don't really need this lipstick, you can find nice ones in a variety of price ranges!

الشعور اللي بيعطيني اياه هاي الحمره من غرلان بذكرني بنوعين حمره اللي برضو غرلان بيعملو واسمهن مكتوب بالخط العريض  فوق. ملمسه على الشفاف كتير طري, بشبه الزبده, وكتير سهل تحطو, وبحسه تقريبا برطب الشفاف, بشكل كتير قليل. اللون هاد بضاين عشفافي من 3 ل 4 ساعات, نسبيا منيح للون طبيعي متل هاد. بشكل عام الاوان الموجوده بهاد النوع من الحمره ميال لانه يكون فيه شوي شفافيه نسبيه, بس طبعا اللون قوي بنفس الوقت. الموضوع بالاساس من اللمعه القويه.  قسم من الالوان فيهن برق ناعم كمان, بس مش كلهن طبعا, فاذا انتو بتفضلوش البرق عشفافكو في مع وفي بدون! طبعا كل ما كان اللون غامق اكتر عالشفاف رح يضاين اكتر. بشكل عام, انا كتير حبيت هاد النوع من الحمره, اظن انه حتى احسن من الحمره الجديده من استي لودر.  اما بالنسبه للسعر, واضح انه مش رخيص, بس كل واحد وميزانيته.

A Dupe or Not a Dupe, That is the Question: Mac Smoked Purple Vs Rimmel 04

This season, all I wanted to wear on my lips was a semi black color! No, I'm not feeling the Gothic era, now am I emotionally unstable, I am a young lady with a fashion/beauty preference! What ended up happening is that I impulsively purchased a lipstick by Rimmel, which is in the Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in number 04, it has a black packaging, and I instantly fell in love! my students hated the lipstick on me but I am not wearing anything to please anyone but myself!

بالفتره الاخيره عم بحب احد حمره غامقه لدرجه انها على وشك تكون سودا. انه لا انا مش عم بمرق بمأساه بحياتي, ومش يأسانه ولا حاسه ياضطرابات عاطفيه, انا صبيه بتفضل شكل اشي معين من الموضه, او جانب معين من المواضيع المتعلقه بالجمال والتجميل. اللي صار اني اشتريت قلم حمره من ريميل باندفاع, والحمره اسمها مكتوب فوق بالخط العريض, ومن اول مره استعملتها وقعت بحبها. طلابي كرهو اللون, بس انا بلبسش الوان او ستايلات عشان ارضي حدا غيري انا!

So yeah Rimmel Kate Moss in 04 in a dark dark dark purple. On the lips I almost feel like it has a  browny gray undertone. Its glamorous. The first time I wore it I kept smiling to myself thinking I was the most badass woman in the holy land. But then I rocked it with being self conscious at all, its almost as if we got married! It applies sooo creamily like all the lipsticks I tried from the Kate Moss range, it can be sheered out or really built up. The more you build it up the glossier it turns. The lasting finish is decent, with reasonable eating and drinking I can get up to 4 hours of wear. And it does not dry my lips out. And here's the lipstick for you to see.

المهم! الحمره رقم 04 من ريميل لونها ليلكي غااااااامق! عالشفاف بحس انه فيها شوي رمادي على بني, كتير حلوه! اول مره حطيت هاد اللون كنت اضحك بيني وبين حالي حسيت اني انسان شبه متطرف, اني مشيت 180 درجه عكس نساء الاراضي المقدسه, بس بعدين تعودت! الحمره هاي بتنحط بسهوله, ملمسها ناعم بشبه الزبده! ممكن يتخفف اللون وممكن يتقوى, وكل ما قوي اللون اكثر كل ما صار يلمع اكتر. اللون هاد بضل عالشفاف تقريبا 4 ساعات مع اكل وشرب خفيف, وبحسش باخر النهار انه نشف شفافي. واياه اللون زي ما انتو شايفين.

As I said, this shade hit me like a cupid would, I didn't see it coming, and it happened really quickly. But being a lipstick lover, I had to get more similar shades, and I had one shade in particular that I had my eyes on. Mac Smoked Purple is another total stunner in my opinion. I also feel like there's a browny gray undertone to this, probably even stronger than the Kate Moss one. The main difference that I found between the two is purely the finish, Mac Smoked Purple is classified as a Matte lipstick, and judging by my experience in Mac's Matte lipsticks, this one feels drier than most of their matte lipsticks, so it does drag a little bit on the lips, and that means that it doesn't give full on pigment immediately. However all this negativity translates to more longevity, *TIN*, we've got a longevity winner! I'll show you a picture of it right now!

متل ما قلت, هاد اللون عمل فيي متل الحب من اول نظره! بس مكتفيتش بس بلون واحد غامق لهالدرجه! اللون اللي كان براسي من ماك واسمه مكتوب بالخط العريض فوق. كمان هاد اللون حلو بشكل مش طبيعي! حسيت انو يمكن فيه اكتر بني على رمادي من اللون من ريميل. الفرق الاساسي بين اللونين حسب رايي هو درجة اللمعان وكمان سهولة الاستعمال. ماك صنفت هاد اللون على انو مات, يعني بدون لمعه, وعلى فكره, بالمقارنه مع الالوان المات من ماك, هاد بنعد من اكترهن نشاف, واكترهن صعوبه بالاستعمال. بما انه نسبيا ناشف, هاد بعني انه اللون مش رح يكون 100% متجانس لما تحاولو تحطو عالشفاف, واللون مش رح يكون قوي من اول ما تحاولو تحطو, يعني لازم تبنو قوة اللون. بس كل هاي السلبيات بتعملو لون بقعد عالشفاف وبتحركش كل النهار, يعني من اكتر الالوان اللي بتضاين عالشفاف. واللون اياه تحت.

I applied the Rimmel 04 on the left half and Mac Smoked Purple on the right half

When worn side by side, I found it harder to notice the differences, simply because the shine of Rimmel's 04 isn't super glossy, its just glossy enough for it not to count as a matte.
